Summer in the city

It's 30 degrees outside and I still have winter pics on my blog. What's wrong with me?? I am still filtering (and photoshopping) the pics I took in Belgium last April...

Anyways, we're off to NYC again this weekend. We plan to do less touristy stuff this time and go off the beaten path (this time we're concentrating more on Brooklyn and East Village).
Next week former MTL'ers and currently BXL'ers are visiting, the Jazz Fest kicks off (we'll go see some free gigs by Stevie Wonder, Alice Russell, Federico Aubele, Patrick Watson, Ben Harper) and then our godchildren will be visiting la Belle Province. August will be about Osheaga, playing music at a wedding, a trip to Bic and our
(hopefully) renewed work/study permits.
In September the inlaws will be paying a visit and before we know it starts snowing again :-(

BUT... in the meantime, I am thoroughly enjoying summer by cooking outside as much as possible. Basically we're going around the world on the BBQ. So far I've thrown on the barbie:
  • Indian (chicken tandoori and lamd kebabs)
  • Lebanese (shish taouk and kefta)
  • Thai (marinated steak, chicken satays, brined shrimps and ribs)
  • North-American (real hamburgers!)
  • Brazilian (picanha, sausasges, pork loin, chicken wrapped in bacon)
  • Mexican stuff (steak and chicken marinated in chipotle to make fajitas)
Will post some recipes soon on my new food blog: http://i-cook-therefore-i-am.blogspot.com/ (never mind the lay-out).
I will be reposting some recipes that were featured on this blog. Hopefully I will have more stamina this time to keep it going on a weekly basis (damn my ADHD).
