The Swell Season

It is a swell season, 15cm of snow, -7 outside. We welcome slush and melancholic music, so we went to see The Swell Season (it's Glen Hansard, lead singer from the Irish band The Frames and his girlfriend Markéta Irglová) at Le National with my (musical) friends Etienne (aka Julian Carax) and Jean (aka Baptiste). Glen Hansard and Markéta Irglová wrote music for the film Once and ended up playing the protagonists in that flick.

Great gig, heartfelt music and funny intermezzos! (especially when ranting on American Thanksgiving that is this weekend while Canada has the same tradition only a month earlier)

Mont-Royal

Last week our friends Craig & Nat and kids Petra & Anna from Ottawa payed us a little visit. After an extensive brunch (mimosas, croissants, rolls, baguette, QC cheeses and home made banana muffins) we climbed up the Mont-Royal.

Now it's freezing outside and cocooning time has started. Comfort food (Mac'n cheese), movies, hot chocolate and pancakes!
