C-c-cold

I don't want to kick in open doors (heck it's winter and we're living in Canada, the country of igloos according to the Americans), but this week we're experiencing some REAL cold. When the weather man says it's going to be cold, he means business!

Almost 3 days in a row the temperature dipped below the -30 mark during the day. Factor in the wind chill and you're dealing with -40 to -45. That means you'll get frost bite on exposed skin within 12 minutes. Ice cream anyone?

The wind chill factor is more important than the actual temperature, because it's a calculation of the apparent temperature on exposed skin based on air temperature and wind speed. In summer it's the humidex that is more important than the actual temperature (it's a temperature calculation of the combined effect of heat and humidity).

With the temperature around a comfortable -20 now, we'll be getting some warm weather next week of -10 ... Yihaa, time to roll out the BBQ!
